Alibaba Launches Qoder Smart Glasses Edition for Hands-Free AI Coding and Debugging
Alibaba Cloud has introduced the "Glasses Edition" of its Qoder AI agent programming platform, integrated with Tongyi and Leqi AI smart glasses. The release allows developers to trigger tasks, ask follow-up questions, and debug issues using real-time vision capture and full-duplex voice interaction. This initiative expands AI coding assistance beyond traditional IDEs into wearable hardware, giving AI agents first-person visual perception of the real world. It enables software and hardware engineers to handle urgent code and equipment debugging tasks hands-free while on the move or performing physical work. Using the smart glasses' camera, Qoder automatically recognizes screen code errors, hardware indicator lights, and whiteboard sketches to suggest fixes within minutes. High-risk approvals appear as unobtrusive cards at the edge of the user's field of view, and full availability is planned for the 2026 Apsara Conference.
## BACKGROUND
Qoder is Alibaba's AI agent-based coding platform that integrates with mainstream IDEs like VS Code to automate multi-step development workflows. Full-duplex voice technology enables continuous, simultaneous two-way audio streaming, allowing users to interrupt and talk with AI naturally, unlike traditional turn-based voice assistants.
