Alibaba Launches HappyShrimp 1.0 AI Music Generation Model
Alibaba has officially launched HappyShrimp 1.0 (快乐虾米), an AI music model capable of generating complete, end-to-end songs from natural language descriptions, emotions, and stories. The tool is now available globally on PC web browsers. This model lowers the barrier to music creation by allowing users without formal music theory training to compose songs. It also aims to solve common AI music issues such as robotic vocals, misaligned lyrics, and noisy audio quality. HappyShrimp treats music as a language with grammar and context, generating songs in a unified, end-to-end process rather than stitching separate components together. It can comprehend both professional genres like "Lo-fi R&B" and abstract narrative contexts.
## BACKGROUND
Traditional AI music generation often relied on separate models for lyrics, vocals, and instrumentation, which were later combined.
