Alibaba Cloud Launches One Key MCP to Unify Model Context Protocol Services

Alibaba Cloud has launched "One Key MCP," a service on its Bailian platform that unifies access, authentication, and billing for multiple Model Context Protocol (MCP) services. The service is compatible with major coding agents such as Qoder, Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor, and initially supports 14 partner services across six domains. Integrating multiple MCP services previously required developers to manage separate credentials and billing systems, increasing maintenance costs. By centralizing these processes under a single API key, Alibaba Cloud simplifies the development and deployment of AI agents. One Key MCP offers five core capabilities, including a unified key, in-platform activation, unified billing, multi-framework adaptation (supporting CLI and public network addresses), and security controls like API Key black/whitelists. The initial partners cover domains such as e-commerce supply chain, financial investment, legal compliance, and logistics.

## BACKGROUND

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open-source standard introduced by Anthropic to connect AI applications to external data sources, tools, and workflows. It acts as a standardized interface, similar to a USB-C port, allowing large language models to securely interact with external systems.
